CULTURAL PRESENTATION

"Aurora Over the Silk Road" features a theatrical performance, hands-on activity stations and story through dance focusing on the history and art of ethnic minorities along the Silk Road.

WHEN: 11 a.m. today

MAGICAL MONDAY

Focuses on literacy and features a story with related activity and a snack. Story is "I Can Be a Truck Driver."

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Monday

TERRIFIC TUESDAY

Activity time focuses on school readiness skills. Activity is "Funky Fish Art."

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. "Open Art" activities are also held at 1 p.m. each Tuesday.

WACKY WEDNESDAY

In Cup Cooking, kids can mix and create simple recipes. Activity is "Fruit Kabobs."

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday

THRILLING THURSDAY

Session focuses on early science and math. Topic is "Moving Matchsticks."

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Summer Science session will be held at 1 p.m. each Thursday.

FUN FRIDAY

Session focuses on creativity and includes art activities for children of all ages. Activity is "Stars & Stripes Wind Chimes."

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday

COST: Included with $7 admission. Senior citizens 65 and older and military/teachers with ID are $3.50. Children younger than 2 and museum members are free.

SPORTS

YMCA ALL STAR SPORTS CAMP Lakeland

Weekly sports include basketball, baseball, flag football, soccer, racquetball and swimming for ages 6-8 and 9-11.

WHEN: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekly through Aug. 17

COST: $109 weekly for members, $139 non-members
